Christmas, the table

(Guest Writer Lois again)

Wasn't everything pretty? Marilyn and Amy outdid themselves on putting together a scrumptious Christmas dinner, with so many wonderful side dishes and desserts. Amy used her new set of dishes she got for her birthday. All the pretty glass and china serving dishes which Marilyn and Amy have collected came out of the cabinets. The festive tablecloth that Betty Lou sent was perfect. We had so much fun putting everything all together!

(My birthday dishes from Marilyn are vintage/antique, purchased in Regina. It was quite satisfying to use them for this holiday meal.)

The sunlight streaming through the windows made the jams and jellies really glow.

I don't see a picture of Marilyn's Nantucket Cranberry pie, but it was my favorite part of the whole meal! I was going to make a pumpkin pie but realized that we didn't really need two whole pies for four people. I waited a few days to do that and we probably enjoyed it more then.

Maybe I shouldn't have sold my jello molds. Seeing your salad makes me realize I'm going to miss them. Oh well, you do funny things when you move to a smaller home.
